After Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea last night Town are still in with a chance of Champions’ league football. The Blues will definitely need to win their game with Derby on the last day of the season while hoping that Charlton can get a point or points from Gerard Houllier’s team. |

Appropriately enough, two goals at the North Stand end saw Town to victory and condemned Manchester City to Division One. Exactly a year ago today Town were condemning Walsall to the Second Division while City beat Blackburn Rovers to make Town go through the anguish of the play-offs once more as they entered the Premier League. |

Town eventually ran out winners in probably the most bizarre game I have ever seen. The game had everything: goals, red cards, bad refereeing, time-wasting of an Olympic standard, a missed penalty and pretty much everything else you can think of. |

The Blues fell to a Worthington Cup second round first leg defeat as they failed to take chance after chance as well as making errors at the back. Town kicked off with Martijn Reuser in a four man midfield with Matt Holland on the bench. Gary Croft came into the side for Fabian Wilnis, John Scales for the injured Titus Bramble and David Johnson for Marcus Stewart. Rain lashed the New Den throughout and made the surface difficult at times. |
